If you got them from Conkel, here are the parents; My favorite Amph right along side the Hoga.

The male is amazing, always greeting me, let me hand feed the fry, and doesnt mind me stroking his hump or his fins. As for aggression, I agree not as aggressive as the Midas, RD, or Xilo, but can be pretty nasty at times. Knock on wood, him and his mate have been together for almost 3 years and he treats her like gold, they are an amazing pair.

What:)? Your pairs offspring went to Conkel? They are around the 1 inch size and arrived last friday from the states.

Could they be the wigglers you got there?

That would be magnificent! Funny how the world turns....

Father is out of this world!

Madness, that's interesting to know that your pair are not as aggressive as Midas, RD or Xilo.

I have heard that they were quite aggressive, more so then Amarillo, similar to Midas.

It just goes to show that not all fish from the same species are the same. I have a pair of Xilos which are mildly aggressive, I have seen more aggression from paratheraps species then my xilos.

For their size they dont hold the punch that the others do IMO, or even in my experience. My male Xilo was a nut job, a mean SOB. He took out a Jag and a RD bigger then himself. I had this Isletas pair in with my Hoga pair and others and the Hog ran the tank.

But it is true, the temperament is solely based on the individual fish. I had a 7" carpintis that was deadly, but also had a 9" Grammode that was the best tank mate.
