Amphilophus Terminatoratus

I have had worse mixes than that before, in smaller tanks, but with smaller fish. It's a tough one but we all learn something when that happens. Kinda unavoidable IMO. I think these threads are very informative for those lookign to mix cichlids. BTW, my male trimac beat the crap out of freddies and 'Escondidos' and some more if I would have let him. He is bad on plecos even. I always moved the fish before they got beat up too badly. I've always watched fish very closely when introducing them to new tanks, and even then they turn on each other when you aren't around.

Ya they were all introduced at the same time. All were small and I did include many hiding places for all. Trimac was just too beastly apparently. The trimac was far crazier than I anticipated at that size. Thankfully I still have the Festae and Jag. I'm just wondering how a Media Luna would do in that tank now.

most amphilophus sp are mean bastards they usually single out one fish at a time and kill them, If the media luna is larger than the others I would go for it otherwise I wouldn't risk such a rare fish

I'll take your advice. Unfortunately Ken only has 1" Labridens right now, I wouldn't want to have such a nice fish get beat up.

Yeah trimacs are one of my most recent mistakes. I bought a young pair (1.5-2") of f1 trimacs for $10 and added them into a 29gallon with 1 3" argentea thinking they'd be fine for a few weeks until I decided to move them to a 90's. A few days passed and the little bastards killed the argentea I had been waiting forever to get. I have a love/hate relationship with all my amphilophus. They're all awesome but they're such bastards sometimes. They're by far the most unpredictable species IMO.
