I'm considering getting an amphiuma for a 150 gallon tank. Its currently empty and I was just wondering if anyone has any pros/cons for keeping this animal and if there's any success for keeping them with fish?

I believe they will eat pretty much any fish that they can fit in their mouths. That was the case with my muddpuppies and i believe its the same for them. I do know that your gonna need to cover every inch of the top of that tank. If theres a way out, they WILL find it.
Thanks, I was thinking of keeping them with larger fish. Arowanas and maybe Oscars. I'm concerned about them biting the other fish, will they attack fish they cannot fit in their mouths?
I have not kept them but considering that they eat fish, I would not risk it. I do know that they have powerful bites and could probably tear apart larger fish.
There was a pretty good thread that died sometime ago. Perhaps you should try searching amphiuma in the forum. If memory serves, the thread was started by one of the vendors. You should take a look.

What about the arowana? Do you know of anyone who has tried this? I am very interested in one but don't want to have it in a tank alone.
