Amphiuma tridactylum

I just got an Anumhpiuma tridactylum hes at 28" How often should i feed him shrimps?
He eats them and really likes them

these things will eat anything. I had one of them, be carefull sticking you fingers around its mouth when eating. They dont have very good vision and will try to take a chunk out of your hand. I fed mine 3 times a week, i fed mine smelt, shrimp, and dry dog food, it ate them like pellets you would give a fish. these guys are really hard to kill. Enjoy this animal they are unique.

Make sure that you keep the tank covered (even filters), as they will escape from any little hole!

I use a stick while feeding them so my hands wont "disappear".
the tank is well covered!

My amphiuma was about 24" when I lost it. No matter what I did to secure the tank it always found a way to escape (my wife named it Houdini). I got Houdini from a teenager that had brought it back from Florida three years before.

The one I had was around 2 feet to 30 inches dont remember to well the length. It didnt die on me it got out, it was at my buddie's store, could be anywhere now.
