Amputated fin on GATF, advice please

I honestly wouldn't add melefix. IMO, it causes more harm than good. on my Melefix bottle it said that it can cause cancer or something like that. i believe that my melefix was the reason that killed countless guppies and a large wolffish. hate the smell too. salt and water change would be better.

I trimmed his fin last night and much to my shock there's already new growth less than 24 hours later!
