wa
today is june 9, a day i never forget.
sry its long, just wanted to share how proud i am to be an american and how much life here means to me in the land of the free. plus they say its good to talk about
i never forget this day bc in 2005 on june 9. me and a handful of young american marines, ( that are not for the war or agaist it, they just wanted to do what they had to do to keep there family, friends, and fellow americans safe from todays threats, also to fight for others to enjoy freedom as we americans have. americans that will fight and give there lives so people can have the freedom we have today even the freedom of speech to protest agist them.) we set out for patrol, just like any other day, we alrdy had been there a cpl months and had lost to many fellow brothers. so we tried as best we could to keep trucken along and try and stay together. i was the 1st tank to drive down the road. for some reason they didnt push the button on me but waited for my friends tank to cross over i heard it and i had a bad feeling, what i saw next was a m1 a1 abrams main battle tank burning to the ground. but they all walked out. i went to one of my best friends daniel chaves, and said u just escaped death, we lol and and i handed him my m16 bc he would need a weapon as now he need to get on a humviee. after that i got back in my tank and watched the tank burn(pissed bc my ipod was in there) and i heard another explosion. we turned around to see a pile of smoke, we headed down the road, then i saw a humviee tire and axil. that was all that was left. i remeber asking and yelling who was in that humvee, i didnt get a answer, but i got closer i then saw my buddys helmet, a cvc helmet(tankers helmet, its diff than than the normal ones) i hoped for the best and started to look, there where 5 marines total we where told on the humviee. we couldnt tell if they all where there or who thery where. then we heard someone scream. my 2 friends where found, they where in the pick up part of it and where tossed about 100feet or so away. they where all in one pice and we started c.p.r on both, not careing for who or what might hit us next. tomake a long story short, we lost both, my good friend we broght back 3 times, but it was his time at that point i hated everything in life. i cryed like a baby where i couldnt breath in front of many grow men and local people. but i look back on it, and i know those last cpl min of there life wasnt pain or sadness, it was honor and pride for being an american and giveing the greatest sacrfice you can give, ur life, for ur family friends and country.
crazy part is it was 50% chance it was me, i look at it as he gave his life so i could see my son. my son was born the day we got home and the day after daniel chaves birth day. alomost like one life ends one begines. i named my sons middle name daniel in honor of a hero who gave his life for us.

anyway, just thoght i would share, i would like to thank all those hwo have or are serving in harms way. i pray for u and ur familys. if you read this pleace take a min or to and know the current events are not just britny spears, there stil is men and women fighting. take a min or to and just pray or hope for the best for those over there and those who gave there whole lives for us to be here today and live with out fear.
here is some pics, a movie they made on the unit i was with, and a cpl other stuff

I honestly dont know what to say.

I've had nothing happen to me that could compare to this so I cant just say "I know what you're going through" because I dont.

My condolences.
