An Ethical debate?

Nothing much you can do if a person is really hard headed. But there are more persuasive ways to get across your point without putting them into a definsive mode, unfortunately these methods dont translate well on a forum only conversation/written only method. In the long run its all about convincing them while letting them think it was their idea in the first place or more benificial for them. And you must admite a lot of people that give advice on forums arnt the most delicate with it, without actual physical or facial cues alot of it sounds confrontational and down right rude. I had a person basicaly call me dumb on MFK before and granted the question may have sounded silly but if you dont know, you dont know and will not know until you ask. I remember being offended at the particular method of advice. So when giving advice consider your own approach just as important as the actual infomartion you are giving, it may help get the message accross more effectively. Thats what manners are for, social lubrication. And im not saying your method was wrong, im just saying some people are more delicate than others and some are just down right difficult to deal with.

Have had quite a few of these experiences. Like the others say what can u do??? I usually go for the calm approach of reasoning, then the heated argument, then get frustrated with myself for the selfish uncaring idiots doing nothing to help their fish. The only way of dealing for me is telling myself that for every person that is horrible there has to be at least 5 decent, sensible and caring people who don't cram a fish into every square mm. Sorry he didnt listen to you cause that is one of the worst overstocking cases I have heard.

Tell em to get 1 big mean nasty one.To eat all the others and then stress to death. They would learn their lesson and lose money! Fart knockers.

I work at a lfs and I have to tell you that poorly informed and totally uncaring people are the norm. I think I send half of the fish I sell to death. Depressing isn't it?
