an idea......

it would have a lot more than a small rock. it would have a land area all to itself. do you think a softshell could do some damage with those claws or is it not a worry. cuz when i grabed a larger one with my bare hands it clawed me pretty good. but i got it in the end lol. ii thought this would ba an awsome idea if it will work

I have 2 red eared sliders - the girl turtle will try to eat any fish of any size - no matter how much she has been feed while the boy turtle won't eat anything but his pellet food. We tried adding only fast fish to the tank - but ended up with an injured bala shark after about a month. We seperated them and the bala has healed - but I probably won't mix the two again. The turtles also produce alot of waste - even with a bigger filter we were always having to monitor the ammonia levels. Not to mention the stress the fish out :)

A softshell could definitely do some damage with its claws, not to mention its beak if you're unlucky enough to have your hand within the range of the turtle's mouth. I think it would be comparible to if not worse than a bite from a medium-sized snapping turtle. It's got a flat crushing beak with an inward-facing sharp edge, so it seems like it would peel the skin off your finger.
