Hey All I have not been on here much as of late due to a few things .1 getting the blue trees on 3/15 . And 2 My female leo laid eggs!! Whell an egg last night . I got caught with my pants down and did not have an incubator and needed to do somthing fast . I came up with a cheap and very effective diy hovabator mimic for 25$. Here is how I did it .

First I went to the lfs I work at on the weekends and got a styrofoam container (free). Then went to the store and picked up a heat pad for muscle aches and a light dimmer (13 for the pad and 4 for the dimmer). Had some lexan lying around from a previous build and a fan from my nano reef mod . Ok first I marked the size of the lexan on the top of the box with a sharpie.Thesn cut out a little smaller around the inside (approx 1/2 inch). Then I cut the thickness of the lid down so the lexan would fit doun in side the lid like a frame. Then I used silacone to calk around the window to hold them in place and make a air tight seal.

Next I got some egg crate and cut it to the inner dimensions of the top level of the box( half way down it gets smaller) wich in my case was 16" x 24".Cut the egg crate and made sure it fit. Next came the wiring .Pretty straight forward. I cut the controlls off the heat pad and hard wired the dimmer inline. I also picked up a ac to dc power converter (7 $) to run the pc fan hooked it up .I had a extra digital thermometer from a fish tank that I tore down to give me proper temp readings.Placed every thing where it belonged and fired it up . I am still messing with the dimmer to get it in the right temp range when I do I will mark it with a sharpie at 80 deg and 90 deg so I dont have to guess again . That is pretty much it . A huge cheap incubator for reptile eggs or any eggs at that.A must for anyone on a budget that wants to start breeding .:grinno::grinno::grinno:

Nice job! Looks like the chicken incubator I bought. Have you ever tried the spare fish tank method? That's where you use a 10 gallon aquarium, 1/3 filled with water and add an adjustable fish tank heater. Put some bricks in the middle with the tops out of the water and place your tray with vermiculite and eggs. Plug in heater and set to desired tempature. Cover with top and let cook till desired. That's come in handy in the past.

should have called me i got 2 in storage, lol.I hope some day i get to use them for something.Good job though.
