Reptile eggs are not like chicken eggs. I believe they are leathery and are very fragile.

Yup, all snake eggs are like that as well as monitors. My geckos' eggs I think were like that.

Nice job! Looks like the chicken incubator I bought. Have you ever tried the spare fish tank method? That's where you use a 10 gallon aquarium, 1/3 filled with water and add an adjustable fish tank heater. Put some bricks in the middle with the tops out of the water and place your tray with vermiculite and eggs. Plug in heater and set to desired tempature. Cover with top and let cook till desired. That's come in handy in the past.

OLD SCHOOL ~~~!!!! Nice job on the incubator, how does the silicone hold up againts the foam?

Nice DIY in a pinch!

Thanks everyone for thr complements. Vicious yes I have tried that method b4 but did not have a spare tank that was under 30 gallons.ason If knew I would have .varanio It is acrylic latex plus silacone and it works great I applied it to the outside only.

Very nice design. I can dig it cause my mom is a manager at radioshack and she can get all these things for me. I will post pics of mine when I am finished, I have wanted something like this for a long time! Maybe something similar for frog eggs??

Frog eggs will dry up in minutes in something like this.

just food for thought on another quick incubator setup....

10 gallon tank, piece of glass slightly longer (higher) than the opening of the tank but same width, 1 brick, 1 submersible adjustable aquarium heater, a sterilite shoe box (4.5 qt size), and some vermiculite, bed-a-beast (coconut coir), perlite, whatever you want to incubate with.

Place brick in center of tank, place shoebox on brick, fill tank to about 3/4-1 inch below shoebox. Place heater in and start calibrating to desired temp. Cover tank with piece of glass and monitor temps. I did this in 1997 as a freshman in high school and hatched out 89 of 90 leopard gecko eggs that way; 2nd egg had the baby die in egg while hatching.

Or a more elaborate way....

...which is what I'm working on how for incubating potential green tree python eggs. I had on and off breeding with my pair for 2 weeks. Hopefully I'll have eggs in about 2 months.

Well so far so good the temp is at aconsistant 80.2 deg.
