how do i treat an open would on a 18" albino channel cat fish

just a little melafix. Mine had open wounds frequently, and would heal in a week

I would also recommend Melafix, where is the wound located? Are you sure its not HITH (hole in the head)?

If you can, fill us in on some other info such as tank size, water parameters, tank mates, and how long the fish has been hurt/how he got hurt.

its by its left whisker he in an 85 gallon by him self

how did he get it and what are the water parameters (specifically ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate)

If he got it from being hooked keep the water clean and add some melafix or salt (not both) and he'll be ok.

They're very tough.

I DID A WATER CHANGE YESTERDAY AND ADDED NEW CARBON TO THE FILTERS
