Can they be good in the long run? One of my fishing buddies said my LMB wont eat them. But i tossed in a peace today and he took it. and wanted more later. So can They bee a good meal mix with pellets?
Just offer those species as occassional treats. They're extremely high oil content will over tax most filtration systems if fed out regularly. These fish are best fed to marine predators with systems running efficient protein skimmers.
Yes i can see that. today i feed some and when one of my fish striked it i saw a big white puff of slime or something come off the fish and i was like shat.
LOL , you'll have a clear version of the EXXON vades oil spill in your tank.. or buy a protein skimmer . I don't see why it would'nt work on a freashwater setup
Over-the-counter hobbyist-grade Protein skimmers don't work in freshwater systems due to the lower bonding properties of water molecules. However, commercial grade skimmers, with improved venturi injectors, can work in freshwater almost as well as they can in marine setups. The inlets require pumps to pressurize the water stream. I bought a used skimmer for my hatchery that works great in freshwater. The only downside is you can't find these skimmers for under about 3 grand a pop.
also aren't anchovies soaked in brine or something? If it is just brine it would kill internal parasites with the high salt content, but do they add anything else.
