  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Why not just feed silversides? My fish love them? Lots of water changes if you want to feed the anchovies.

also aren't anchovies soaked in brine or something? If it is just brine it would kill internal parasites with the high salt content, but do they add anything else.
Mine were live bought, as bait, not human food. Even so I used them mainly as treats. As Oddball pointed out, they can cause a oily surface scum.

maybe if you add a descent amount of salt to ur aquarium on a regular basis a regular one might work.

It takes a pound of sea mix to make a gallon of sea water. You're not going to be able to add enouh salt to FW to make a protein skimmer work correctly (at least not with keeping FW fish alive).

We never talk about processed human foods unless we say "Don't use it". When you see threads about grocery store-bought foods for aquaria, invariably, we're discussing fresh or frozen unprocessed raw foods.

I think the canned one for Human food are soaked in brine. the one u get from bet shops to go fishing arnt they are just tossed in a bag and frozen. I think. the bag doesnt leave any thing to read.

I believe you are right about the brine treatment for canning, the ones I was buying were alive from a livewell at a marina.
