its filled and running! gata pick up one cone fitting(idk the name even tho working in the industry for 3 years) and 2 prefilters for the overflows to quiet that dam slurping. picking up the gravel i ordered 2m pics 2m
 
so i was late with pics. dirty glass i know cloudy i know i didnt have any carbon in it for cycle. cycle seems done wood is just tossed in.

i also dug out my 40watt uv sterilizer if the cycle is infact done that will go on today including carbon in the sump
 
so far just a 55g diy sump the p/o made i plan to add 1-2 fx5's for good measure im a firm beleiver of over filteration lol o plus the uv sterilizer

I had an FX5 on it at one point mostly filled with bio balls. I left the outer foam pads in and one of the pads in the center chamber so water flow wouldn't be reduced by sludge buildup. That tank was crystal clear all the time and I had a pretty heavy bioload in there. Looks great though, cant wait to see it loaded up
 
ya im getting excited ill definatley be picking up a fx5 or 2. my goal is to have a nice setup with some fish ive wanted to keep for a while lol idk if ill be picking up a fish soon or not i hope so then ill finnish up with the dry stuff
 
Nice pick up , I have a question though can you have a ray with a gravel substrate ? I thought that it had to be sand .
 
idt its an issue from what ive learned to understand "pea" gravel is ok. i used carib sea stuff i forget the name(not the smallest size tho one step up) 100lbs dry 40lbs "live"
