where did you see he post the ad of selling one?

in his sig

" FS 1 5-6 inch brandtii $100 "

i have more then two brandtii. and before we all jump to conclusions on which fish i have for sale maybe we should ask? i still have said pair and then are doing well together. i do have a smaller brandtii for sale but only because my prognatus wolf has become a priority of mine and i would like to un divide her tank. as for sexing them, thats for me to know and for you to find out, and im sorry that the pics look similar. i dont think that thats so hard to believe. i am photographing the same fish, in the same tank, with the same camera, usually around the same time of day. i dont really like the "know it all" attitudes of some users either, especially when your questioning a fish keeper with far more knowledge then yourselves. have a great night people.

FOR THE RECORD I'D LIKE TO SAY THAT I AM ROOTING FOR YOU AND WISH YOU ALL THE SUCCESS IN THE WORLD. breeding these would be a huge accomplishment and would be giving something great back to the hobby, but you are bringing on all the "know-it-alls" by the way you are conducting yourself.

http://www.opefe.com/brandtii.html

see the promblem is that unless you have cut up and killed a bunch of brandtii to determine sex and then some how figuring out a sexual dimorphism you cant sex them. the leading scientific research on piranhas say so. Then all you have to defend your meathods is "as for sexing them, thats for me to know and for you to find out". have some dignity and atlest express your method that you are so confident about. also by leaving so much time between posts only gives time for people to speculate and carry on the conversation with out your direction. and to use time as an excuse isn't realistic since you obviously spend time caring for your fish that writing a 3 min post you could work in. if you want this to go your way and for people to really get behind you on this you need to put more into it on here. take a look on P-Fury and see the work done by a member there that actually bread serrasalmus maculatus. when he did it everyone was behind him and wasnt skepitcal bc he showed a ton of pics of his 8 fish in a 125 gallon tank. I was lucky enough to see the tank in person and the fry so i know he bread them, but so does everyone else bc he had a million pics and well thought out documentation.

bottom line. when you are doing something like this and want to be taken seriously. you need to provide evidence and documentation on a consistant basis to direct the conversation. people won't believe you when you just tell them to becuse you know and they should listen to you because you have all this knowledge.

I've followed this thread from the beginning (granted i'll go days before checkin it out again). I have to say I second that.

I have a few questions or wonders that i dont' really want answers to

Why post anything on a forum if you weren't up for the discussions that would arise from it? Why ignore questions concerning your experiment, it's not like the answer is obvious or you have already answered them and people are just being lazy and not reading the thread? Most people would be more then happy to prove people wrong and leave them with egg all over their face. Perhaps this should've been kept in a private dairy or blog instead.

This is a great experiment, people are (or were) excited and pulling for you but you lack the charisma to talk to other fish keepers, new or old, in a public forum.
