You will need atleast a 350g tank for a single pair to breed.
Run several quality filters and change 40% 2 times a week.
27celcius and ph of 6,8 is optimal.
They breed under roots, therefore add large corner roots.
The cleaner the water the better. Clean water will tell the growth hormones that it is in a vast area, and dirty water will shutdown growth hormones to a minimum. Stimulating the growth hormones seems to stimulate several other hormones, and the fish will change behaviour over the course of 2-3weeks.

Ps. Floating plants are a must, they breed in the shade.

Greetings from denmark

There was nothing that you said that would have changed the outcome. It was my fault and not the fish or size tank, I should have checked to see if they ate all there food from the last meal, but I didnt see it still in there untill it was to late.

that is the dumbest post ever written. too dangerous to sex? how do you figure? he cut them open and stiched them up?? what are you talking about man get a clue. too dangerous??? he is taking 2 fish that are normally not cohabed in this hobby bc they are aggressive and territorial that is about the most dangerous thing you can do with the fish to put it in danger. that or giving the fish to you. you seem to be the most dangerous thing to happen to fish in a while look at your RIP list. too complex??? to say over the internet? like they don't explain physics or the theory of reletivity over the internet? give me a break. this guy is just guessing about the sex.

they died bc of left over food contaminating the tank? if the tank was bigger the toxins in the water would have not killed them. also it takes a while for food to decompose to that point. i bet it was something else. your ignorance is astounding.
