Andinoacara rivulatus in a 55

Recently obtained a 55 gallon and decided to house a Green Terror as the main fish. I had one as a kid, one of my first fish, in a poorly maintained 10g and I've always wanted to do the species right.
Tank mates are 4 Black Phantoms and Pictus cat. Don't know if the 55 will be the GT's forever home, might upgrade him to a 100/125 with some bigger friends in the future.

I want green terrors again I had to get rid of mine because my 2 paired up and got aggressive I didn’t want to separate them so I gave them to a friend

Thank you! He is quite a looker. It must be good genetics, I hope that translates to size as well. It would IMG_20230324_062909190_BURST000_COVER.jpgbe nice if he topped out at 10" or so. Maybe 3.5' at the most right now.
He's tricky to get good photos of because he's a fiesty one

Nice one. I've had a number of them over the years, easily 2 inches to 6,7 inches in one year ime. They might grow slow for some but I wouldn't count on it. You may already have this in mind, but I'd plan on a larger tank eventually.

You can really see the fact that they're acaras in this picture, it's weird to me for some reason to think about the fact that they're just really big bulky acaras

Ha I 100% agree. I did not know this before, but GT's are capable of fading their black pigmentation in and out in response to light levels. So with no visible eyespot or facial stripe and at a distance, he basically looks like a Blue Acara
