hmm ill search around for some hypodermic needles. thanks for the help guys. only the small one up under a hole i can barely reach has come back out. i hope i got them.

o and i have a 20gal AND a 55gal lol sorry about the confusion

let us know how it goes. and the rule applies for both tanks, do only a small portion at a time. If you see some pop up here and there, take em out right away to prevent a huge problem with them.

You can also try peppermint shrimp.

You can get needles anywhere that has a pharmacy or sells medical supplies.
I just get 'em at Walmart or Walgreens.

I don't use lemon juice though, I use kent marine liquid calcium. It works just as effectively for me and I know that a tiny amount of calcium going into the tank isn't gonna cause any issues whatsoever. With lemon juice I'd be too worried about potentially burning critters nearby.

Kalk works well--it's thick & will stay on the offenders for a while, giving it time to kill them. Kalk paste won't fit thru a needle though.

Ive never tried Kalk before. Do you does your tank with that as well?? I have never added Kalk to any of my reef tanks and was thinkin i might start due to the demand. I go through a lot of liquid calcium and its getting annoying lol

I use this stuff http://www.seachem.com/products/product_pages/ReefAdvCalcium.html. It works a lot better than the liquid kent marine I used to use. I just use a little bit periodically whereas I was having to use a whole ton of the kent marine.

I was gonna switch to kalkawasser but I was deterred by the seemingly complicated directions on it lol.

I use Pedlow (Calcium carbonate) pellets for my calciuum (1tsp/day) & baked baking soda (Sodium bicarbonate) mixed in RO water (50ml, 1x/day), for alk. It's for about 100g tank.

I couldnt agree more. I go through kent like no tomarrow and it gets frustrating when you pick up the bottle and theres not enough in there lol.

Ill have to look into the pedlow. Do you get that online or do you have a store around that carries them?? I need to do something because im getting sick of dumping a cup of calcium a day. I was thinkin about a reactor but ill have to wait until june before that fun project. thanks puffer.
