Angel fish Pic...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yes, these are the santa isabel angels. however, i would not spend that much money on them. but since you imported them im sure u got a better deal. its a shame they dont retain that yellow/reddish fins in captivity. and they seem to have short fins that doesnt grow back or very slowly grows back. those are the only downside for me to purchase them. but they do have nice shapes and still very nice.

2 years ago, i pre-order 8 of them. but it didnt go thru. and im glad it didnt. cuz i would of regret getting them knowing they wont keep that reddish/yellow fins

Well here they are. I like them. THis isn't the greatest video, but I figured I'd share it:

Haha typical wild angel fiestyness! I found them to be much more territorial than domestics. I couldn't keep 5 in a 60gal. I ended up with one angel claiming 75% of the tank for himself & defending it relentlessly.

I just want to ask you guys on this angel/discus section what you think of the tank I am setting up? It's a 120 gallon & I am trying to create an environment like to roots of trees they prefer in the wild. I plan on moving these angels in here eventually... Please give me some feedback on the set-up & what else I should do from here. Of course, picture the driftwood without the rocks (they are only there to hold it down until it doesn't float any more).

I commented on your post in the CA/SA section too. Driftwood looks great, I think the angels will look really good in there.

I had bad luck with angels & sevs, but I had a very aggressive sev. Lots of people have had success with the mix, just something to keep an eye on.

Great! This set up is really thinking ahead to the angels going in it. I am building a 850 gallon cichla tank & these sevs are pretty big so I think I may move them into that & the angels, geos, & more into this one. THe sevs were bigger than I expected when they arrived so I put them in this 120 gallon. Thanks for the feedback! This tank is behind my desk at work & I need the angels for a calming influende while doing the bills & also because I don't need to be getting splashed by cichla!

i personally would change out the driftwood to something long and thin. the ones u have now are nice but to me it is to big. but it takes up to many space. but if you're only keeping angels and no other big fish then its fine. but thats just my opinion. and your st. isabels are looking good. also they are prolly the most aggressive fiesty wild angels out there.

The tank looks good. I'm concerned with introducing the Angels into the established Severum tank. It is a great Angel tank however and mellow Geos. ie Red Heads and Angels mix well together. Your angels look good and in a couple of months well be showing some nice color and patterns. Can't beat wild Angels IMO. GL.

Thanks for the feeback, & we are on the same page. I plan on moving the severums out & the big rocks too, so we agree the tank should be a nice set-up for the angels & some other complimentary amazonia pesces!

Another question; I also brought in 3 types of geos. Altifrons (Rio Arapiuns-Tapajos Yellow), Brasiliensis (Sao Paulo-Mogi Das Druzes), & Satanoperca Acuticeps (Santerum). Which (or all) would go best in this tank? Thanks!
