I have had this angel fish for about 4 months. It's refusing to eat today. I did about a 60% water change last night because the nitrate was high and the ph was 6.0. Everything else was good. I added some crushed coral and the ph is 6.6 now.

What’s ur water change schedule. Poor water quality can curb a fish’s normal behavior and appetite may need to increase ur water changes (2x per week) with a dechlorinator.

Maybe try some food with entice or garlic gaurd mixed in. Consider adding some
Prazipro to the tank. Are they wild angels?

I changed the water on the 17th then 22nd. I use Seachem Prime when I change the water. I got it from Petco. I changed their food about a week ago to Omega One Super Color pellets in the morning and Omega One Super Color flakes at night. I separated earlier from the other fish to see if it wasn't eating because the others are pigs.

I have a pearlscale angelfish that went through two long periods of not eating any pellet food. She'll only eat frozen or oily foods during those periods. I usually just let her fast as long as she wants, as I won't indulge her pickiness.

If its a disease, I don't think loss of appetite should be very sudden, as its usually a very gradual loss in appetite IME. Chances are he just didn't feel like eating. Wait a few days, and if he still doesn't eat, that's when you should be concerned.

Did you add new fish or plants recently? They could've brought in parasites. If the poop is clear and stringy, you have parasites. My angels all had them at one point, with reduced appetite. A little epsom and they all fought it off themselves.

He didn't make it. I found him yesterday morning. I don't know what it was. The last new fish was over a month ago. The others seem fine.
Thank you, I appreciate the advise.

Sorry for your loss.

My condolences.

This wasn't your fault. It seems that the onset was too fast and symptoms showed up too late for you to properly diagnose and treat.
