Red Devil;915441; said:I do not know what you mean by set up.. do you mean what substrate and whether i have plants etc.. no plants in hex.. Or do you mean filtration set up.. we have large filter... we have never lost an angel .. all finage is pretty good.. watched last night as a pair prepared to clean and lay eggs on the tube from filter..i do have only about 12 angels in the hex now because we started breeding angels again.. but i added one of my geo babys to the angels. The other tank is set up as community tank..so what your saying is the controlled over crowded angel tank is alot like the african cichlids .. if you have just a little more over the ideal the chance for peacefulness increases.. instead of hostility increasing. I did not know angels were like that.. thanks
Fry;919087; said:Thanks for the thorough response. I wanted to know about your filtration and if you had a lot or no hiding places. I've read articles about controlled overcrowding in general for Cichlids and aggression. I guess the general idea is to have enough fish to keep aggression and injuries down while being on top of water quality through filtration and water changes. I've been trying to link it to the presence or lack of hiding places and retreats in the tank. I'm planning to keep 8 or so Angels in a 50 or 75 in the future, do you think that would work given your experience with them?
