Yes they are, I just read the Pennsylvania fish&boat commision's fishing regulations, and that is on like the first few pages! They call them "nusince fish" or non~indigenous (that means not native, Iheartfishies.. :screwy: .LOL). You will undoubtedly get mondo fines if'in ya' get caught throwin' one back, or releasing from home aquaria. Although it also says that one can harvest snapping turtles and sell them with no permit. I'll have to read that again, but I'm pretty sure that's what it said, though.
Explain, I do'nt get what you're saying...

It's an asain SH, so what's mean.

I've deleted many brain cells this weekend.:)

I read only the Northern Snakeheads are illegal.
Is that right or wrong?!?!
Maybe you need to just call me an explain.

depending on the state in wich you live in depends on if all or certain spiecies of channa are illegal. Most southern state have total bans against them . Some nothern state give two ****s less about them. Md made it illegal to own northerns and one other spiecies of them . Not all are banned. Thats why the gachuas are gonna be starting to get sold here localy in difrent lfs.

The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries reminds anglers that they remain the best source of information regarding the collection of these exotic fish. Anglers are asked NOT TO RELEASE a suspect fish, but to kill it humanely with a blow to the head and to get it on ice as quickly as possible. Anglers should report their catches to authorities immediately:

-- Virginia: Call the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries in state, toll-free at 1-800-770-4951. Out-of-state callers reporting snakehead fish caught in Virginia waters should call directly to 804-367-1258.

-- Maryland: Call the Maryland Department of Natural Resources at 410-260-8320, or toll-free at 1-877-520-8DNR, ext. 8230 or via e-mail: customerservice@dnr.state.md.us.
