Angelfish and New Tank Syndrome

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
with angelfish i do a bucket drip the angels that i had die on me weren't very hardy against ph changes even a .1 difference was enough to kill them in 2 days. I do a very very slow drip into a bucket with some extra Prime in there. Every angel ive ever had developed a thick opaque slime coat when acclimating them to my water. But with locally bred angels ive had better luck even with a quick acclimation

Water conditions were perfect only difference was pH, they seemed alright at first but then next day thick slime coat and the marble type developed thick slime only on the white colors for some reason, but the silvers had a symmetrical development of thick slime.

It was the fish not my tank. I knew I couldn't have messed up my water that bad.;)

I just recently setup a 12gal Angelfish QT tank and I've been loosing angels left and right.

Looking at all the facts you provided (and you haven't confirmed that you measured nitrites and ammonia...), I agree with previous posts in that it seems like the tank was simply not cycled. Letting it run fishless until the next fishes' arrival will not make it better, bacteria need food to cycle your tank. Why don't you get some zebrafish or so to get your new QT cycled first?
