Angelfish Breeding?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
its very easy to get angelfish to breed. The best sign of them about to breed is that they start cleaning off a rock or slate and have their breeding tubes out. If you have a pair they usually never leave eachothers sides. Feed them frozen bloodworms for a week and do a big water change and you should get eggs. kept the water around 82.

depends are you sure you have a breeding pair? putting 1 0r 2 tetras are good dither fishes

I have mine at 86 and was feeding them frozen blood worms and doing water changes weekly to encourage breeding. Is that okay?

This might be a bad question but what do you mean by tetras being a dither fish? I do have 1 group of tetras in there and i'm just hoping that dither doesn't mean that they are on the menu for my angelfish...: /

dither fish are usually used to encourage the two angelfish to tag up and attack the other fish in the tank instead of attacking eachother. Atleast thats what i have got out of the meaning.

yea thats why tetras are fast enough for them not being able to kill i had a pair with out dither a whole chunk of the females tail was missing after 1 night

I added a curvicep cichlid and my sunset blushing attacked it alone without the marbled one by its side. I made a big mistake once and added a smaller angelfish and they both attacked it all at once.
