Angelfish breeding?!?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ok I bought a breeder box to hang in the tank. Any suggestions when I should move the eggs( which should turn to wigglers tomorrow)

You say they are on the filter stem...I'm assuming it's the intake for a HOB filter.... Can you shut it down and transfer the media to another HOB on the other side of the tank? Just trying to avoid the wigglers getting sucked into the intake as they hatch. Then you can transfer them to your breeder box.

Actually I caught the parents eating some of the eggs (I can see wigglers) so I took as many of the eggs off and put them in a breed box hanging in the tank. (I didn't want to touch the eggs and I didn't know any other way so I just did a little shaking in the box and most came off) I got around 30ish. I also have 2 filters btw they used the longer one. There are still a few left on there but I don't want to touch them :/

Parents will eat the unfertilized eggs to keep them from growing fungus. In my experience with angels they'll either eat them all or none of the fertilized eggs.

Yeah they were eating them all....they are still eating the wigglers remaining on the extension piece. This is also their first spawn
