One of my two Koi Angelfish that I got 18 months ago has been in perfect health for all of his (or her, not sure) life but last night and all day today has been sick. I noticed a big difference tonight since when I usually come up to the glass, both of my angels will approach but tonight only one did. I noticed the other one staring at the back wall being unresponsive to me. I knew this was not normal so went to get a closer look and noticed that both of his eyes were hazy and foggy. When I fed the fish he ate nothing at all and then started swimming on his side. Then, my Sailfin Mollies proceeded to attack and bite him (which they have done in the past but he normally fights back) and he did nothing about it. I am very worried he may be dead by morning if nothing large happens to help him. He is currently in a 10 in wide net submerged in the top of the tank and is upright but appears to be in affect blind, or at least with VERY more vision. I put in some Stress Coat into the net to see if that helps but if anybody out there knows what to do please respond ASAP. I would hate to lose my favorite fish which may ultimately be what happens. I will stay up later tonight to keep an eye out for any responses so please post no matter what time it may be. If anything else happens I will update this.

First thing to check would be water parameters.
Other than something being wrong with those, I have no idea :( Got our first angelfish on friday.

Nitrates are terribly high and I am doing a BIG water change tomorrow (70%) but that has never affected any of my other fish this drastically. I'll post some pictures.

Well it's the next morning and he is still fine in the net but not sure if he has recovered or not. Regardless I will do a water change to see if that helps.

I've seen fish get cloudy eyes when all the hardness gets used up in a tank's old water. There are many causes, but this can be one, IME. Changing the water weekly will completely prevent and fix this for most people.

I just did a 15 gallon water change on the tank it's in (which is a 30 tall) so hopefully that helps but he was very weak and motionless during the change while my other angelfish was very active.

Just fed the tank and he still hasn't eaten (not that I expected him to).

I would keep doing water changes until you get the nitrates down under 40 ppm just make sure to keep the temp around the same there's nothing wrong with doing multiple water changes in a day I would do 50- 75% changes and after you get it strait 25% weekly.

Yep keep changing the water till he gets better. Cloudy eyes is a sign of poor water quality................
