Three angels have died today, no signs of damage, I just found them on their sides. They were eating fine, showed no signs of disease or bacterial infections etc. So I just don't get it. Any ideas? They were my leopard, golden marble, and marble, definately some of my best, and the rest I would rather not lose....help, any ideas? I have no water change equipment at the moment, so no I cannot check it. But my banjo, kuhli, and cory are all fine. I did a fifty percent change last week when I stirred the gravel...help?! I've had these for over six months, and it's really ticking me off to see them dying off one by one, I'm scared I'll wake up and my entire tank is dead.

Well, check your water temperature and water parameters. Let us know the results

ph amonia etc.... we cant help you it seems like you dont even know the basics no offense but u can go to the store with a water sample and thell test it for you

Umm yeah, I've been keeping five years but don't know the basics. Look, no offense but it's FREAKING ten o'clock at night, and I lost my car, so I really have NO way to get anywhere, no that they'd be open til monday anyway. God.

5 years and you dont have your own test kit? and u shouldnt do 50% water changes at a time better to do 25

:cry:well sounds like mine, long term nitrate exposure
if the nitrate is like 15-20ppm like mine it just breaks them down over time

No, I don't sadly, I've relied upon my LFS for that since they do 'em free. Usually go in every week for one. Regardless, the water looked...weird since I stirred the gravel, so I asked my LFS expert as well as some other nice folks, and they all told me a fifty would be ok. Normaly a 25% is what I do.

So should I just take the water in for testing monday, do a water change, or run around in my underwear screaming? xDDD Just kidding on the last part.

Oh, didn't mean to sound snappish earlier...I'm just flipping out and about to crap a brick after all the work I've put into my angels...x_X I'm sure any monster keeper knows the feeling ^.-

Silver Crescent, the reason why people need to know these things is because in order for people to tell you what went wrong. I mean, it could have been perfectly fine and then something happened.

I understand that people don't have means to get to a store or other place. People CAN wait until monday.

As for my educated guess, angels are cichlids. Cichlids fight even if they are angels, rams and other dwarf peacefiul cichlids. Check signs if they were fighting. Npped fins, missing scales, etc.

Another thing that I have heard is that certain varieties, of angels are more prone to sickness. You may want to check that out.
