So I have some angels in my 45 and one of the angles has its tail almost completely gone and its top fin half way gone, and one of the other angels has its top fin frayed. I am not sure what is going on, I really don't see any fin nipping going on, but I don't know what to do. The other fish I have in there is molies, platys, swordtail, siamese algae eater, pictus catfish.

Thanks

I'd guess the mollie, i have a black mollie that's eating it's way through my guppies tail fin :s i'm considering getting rid of the mollie cause my guppy is awesome! (has a 1inch tall tail fin @ 3 months old) that's my story anyways...

So the angelfish getting picked on died this morning, but it also had ich so I am not sure. I am keeping a good eye out and I don't see anyone bothering the other angels and I will keep watching them is it possible that whoever is doing the fin nipping will not bother the other angels?

also what is the odd that it was the other angelfish, at the time there was only 3 angels in there, which I have read could be a problem, but now there are 5 so is it possible it was just the angels picking on each other?

How big are the angels and how may of them do you have? Maybe they are pairing off. Males can become downright mean at this time. A lot of this happens at night when the lights are out. I would suspect the alpha male angel then the siamese a.e. seound.

Could just be fin rot or poor water quality. Test your water for ammonia.

my money is definately on the other angelfish. most likely the dominant one.
