so my mom just called me and told me that she has eggs on the side of her 55 gallon fish tank, uphihgh towards the top. there is a small pleco about 1.5in and 2 cory cats about 2in and 2 bumble bee cats about 2in. there are 3 angels although only 2 seem to hang out together.

i told her once the eggs hatch to siphon out the fry into a cycling 10gallon. the angels are about 5 in tall and good size, my question is will they protect the eggs from the corys and plecos and small cats?

any other advice would be appreciated.

take out the pleco he will eat the eggs or the other angelfish will.

ok see what i can aske her to do, once the fry become free swimming will the pleco bother them? the parents seem to be gaurding the eggs fairly well

yes not the pleco the other angelfish will.

all those fish will attempt to eat the fry,
and if the pleco happens to stumble across the eggs theres a good chancee hell inhale them all!!!
same with the corys!

u could cut a 2 liter in half wash it and pin it around the eggs to keep um safe while till they hatch, then that would make spyhoning um that much easier

I would be cautious about siphoning out young. The pressure inside the siphon may be low enough to hurt the young fish. I'd try netting, or putting them in a breeder. Good luck!

Are you sure you want to raise them? It might be easiest for everyone to let them be food. You'll be at that fry tank six times a day feeding and cleaning. You up for that? 24/7?
