I have a mated pair that lay eggs about every three weeks and everytime they eat the eggs could this be they don't like the other fish in tank two cory cats and two pictis cats a rainbow shark but he hides all of the time they don't mind them any other time its the only fish iv been able to keep with them a very mean pair of angels they kill anything that's not a bottom feeder but I love them they r great and fun to watch should I hatch them myself I hear its kinda hard and if I don't will it hurt them to eat the eggs...

You dont have to hatch them yourself. Try feeding them more fish food. They are probably just hungry. When the babys have eyes and tails and start to school thats when u separate them in a separate tank. Because parents can still eat the fry and ur other fish.

Try removing the eggs and hatching them in another tank. Set up a 10 gallon tank with water from the main tank. Use a sponge filter and place an air stone in the tank to create water flow around the eggs. Use some metaline blue to prevent funguas from forming on the eggs. Once the eggs hatch don't feed anything to the fry until 24 hours after they go free swimming. You can then feed with BBS or Hakari 1st bites. It's not that diffacult, if you do a little reasearch.

When they start laying eggs all angel pairs eat their eggs the first few times but they eventually get the hang of it. If they continuosly eat the eggs after many times it means that there is smth that is stressing them, either tankmates or the tank is in a busy area of your house and lots of movement and noise scares them. Fish eat their eggs not because they're hungry but because they fear for their safety. In fish logic : it's better if the parents eat them then smth else does. If this has been going on for many times u will have to take out the eggs into another tank if u want them to hatch.

Hatching angel eggs is easy.
Set up a 10 gallon tank with clean fresh water, NOT THE WATER FROM THE MAIN TANK.
Place in a air stone let the air bubble lightly up thru the eggs and use a sponge filter in the corner use a little Metaline Blue if you want.
Feed them when they start swimming on there own Frozen baby brine shrimp is easy and good to start them on.
I have hatched many angels and is lots of fun to do.

i suggest this too.. simply because angels do stress and because of stress end up eating the babies.. it is very difficult to get a breeding pair of angels who also nurture and raise the young themselves.. when you do it is awesome..

i always use some water from the main tank unless you have alot of time to acclimate the water ...

I have angels that breed in a community aquarium at first i 2 thought they were eating the eggs when i watched closely they cleaned them and spat them back on the leaf ive never had any young survive but i think thats down too the other fish
