I use these^^^^ I think I have the one that is one the far left, and I run an air pump ment for a 55 gallon but that is what I have right now, and I don't find any problems.

thank you so I just need to look for a bio-mechanical filter sponge. these are actually really easy to find around me.thanks for the info

I have been breeding angels for 4 years now and love it.

If that is the parents first spawn, the fert. rate is prob. going to be low. Most likely the pair will eat the eggs within the first couple days, but this is not always the case.

If they do decide to parent raise, I suggest using airline tubing to siphon out the free swimmers once they get about a week old. ( feed the babies baby brine shrimp)

If you want to artifically raise the fry, I suggest:

  • set up a 10g tank
  • use a sponge filter ( I use Hydro sponge filters)
  • add some live plant(s) for cover
  • feed live bbs 2-3 times daily ( syphon up any uneaten food)
  • keep the tank warm ( around 80 degrees)
  • do daily 10% water changes
Once the fry reach dime size, move them to a 30g setup... ( you can start feeding them froozen bloodworms, sinking pellets, and flake food).

When they get nickel to quarter in body size, put them in a 55g ( min.), but the larger the tank the better.

Growout space is VERY important. If the baby angels are not given the proper amount of growout space, their dorsal fins will become bent, and can lead to them being stunted.

You are so right, half the eggs turned white, but the parents are picking those away, (with some good eggs) If the others stay good there should still be over 75 wrigglers tomorrow hopefully, and I do plan on artificially raising them, my cories are a little too interested in them!

Did you get wigglers, or did the parents eat them??

My pair are about to have free swimmers tomorrow morning!!

Congratulations to the proud parents & grandparents! Um, shall we expect cigars in the mail. ;-)
