Angels & Their Offspring

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Awesome! Mine spawn every 2-3 weeks, but the fry always get eaten by other fish. I should try and separate them :)

Yeah, this is our second spawn (the first spawn died off soon after reaching the wriggler stage). I think after growing out this group , I'm just going to turn this tank into a community so I won't have to be constantly caring for fry.

Beautiful is all i can think of when i see this pair... and great photography shots too.. it is amazing when you have a great pair of angels .. and even more amazing when they raise their young.. you have both for sure.

did they lay the eggs on the upright rock on the left side of the tank?by the way, nice setup you have.

No, they were in a divided section of my 225 gallon tank when they spawned, and they layed their eggs on a plant in that tank. At the time, I was still cycling the 36 gallon, so I had to wait until it was cycled before I moved them. I put the slate in there just to help start up the bacterial colony (it had been anchoring a piece of DW in the 225), but I left it in there because I'm hoping that if they spawn again, they'll use the slate and I'll be able to easily remove the eggs.

Thanks; and I agree, it is an awesome experience to be able to watch the fry grow and develop day by day. I'll post some updated pics soon.

nice! im trying to get mine to breed. the female keeps cleaning a spot to lay but its been like 3 or 4 days now. her tube is sticking out farthest today tho.
