Hey guys!
I really would like to do a school of the Neon Tetras with an Angelfish, because I love the diversity. But, I don't want to individually name them "Snack-Time". ( I should probably be asking if it is actually possible to house Angels in the same tank with Neon Tetra's at all, if you do it from fry-hood; or if it is a rare success rate. From all my research, it seems to solely depend on the temperament of the Angel. But, still being relatively new to the serious side of the hobby, I feel the need of some experienced input.)

Thanks in advance!!

Welcome aboard

You will get yes and no. Some have been successful and others failed with the combination. I've seen large Neon Tetra labeled as Jumbo maybe those may work but other members will chime in with their experiences.

I've had success with getting full grown neons and young angelfish and having them grow up together.

I get alot of unwanted fish that end up in a 200 gallon community tank of random species. Mostly small fish but have an old gnarly angel in there who doesn't seem to bother any one. Its a large tank tho and heavily planted. Many of the other angels I've had havent been such good neighbors tho.

Hmm. Mine is a 38 gallon bowfront. I'll give it some more thought, and look at some alterative schooling fish that live in the Amazon. Thanks guys! :)

Look into congo tetras, they are a beautiful tetra that grows a little large but would stay about right for a 38 gallon and are from the amazon river if memory serves me correctly.

Looks like my memory failed me :p.

The angelfish would make a good centerpiece though Deadliest viper7. Do you happen to find them to grow too big for the tank or is it another reason?
