I moved this thread here and deleted the other one.

6 angels will be a good start for a 55g. What else do you wish to keep there? You could try tetras but beware of some that will certainly end up eaten by your angels since angels can prove to be a menace to them. In the wild, angels can ambush their prey, most notably the neon tetras. Avoid fin nipping species such as well such as the serpae tetras. If you want tetras with your angels, cardinals, rummy nose, penguin, glass bloodfins, red phantoms, black phantoms, lemons, head-and-tail-light tetras, red-eye tetras and glowlights certainly fit the bill.

Others to consider are pencilfish, hatchetfish, corydoras, blue rams, Bolivian rams, keyhole cichlids and small species of plecos such as bristlenose plecos. If you don't mind non-South American species, kuhli loaches, rasboras, danios and a few species of barbs such as cherry barbs fit well.

what kind of cichlids do you have right now? and a 55 is a good size for angels because they only grow to about 6 inches, and if you are getting angels you should always keep them by themselves or in pairs of 4 or more or else they will get territorial.

Make sure when you get them you get them from a good source. PetSmart and PetCo look good the day they come in but the vendors for these fish seem to, in my experience working for both stores, send the rejects. If these two big box stores are your only option pick well. Look really close at the fins, even though the fish are barely bigger than a quarter, I dont know how many I had to return for customers within a day or tow that had died of apparent fin rot. Ask the associate to feed them, a lot of those little guys died within a few days because they wouldnt eat. Always, always, always beware of ich.
If you purchase them at that little size, the size of a quarter pr so and you have a fast current at the surface of your water a feeding ring might be a good idea if you feed floating foods. The food stays in the ring so the, not so graceful, baby angels dont have to chase it around.
I agree with Lupin's stocking ideas. Six is a great number and if you decide you want them to spawn it's a good quantity to allow for a mated pair.
In my experience danios are also on that fin nipping list. Nasty little buggers.

i have a jack dempsey a green texas cichlid and a breeding pair of jaguars and a rhino pleco thooth nose pleco and a leopard pleco i plan on keeping the the tooth nose and leopard with the angel fish i wanna know what types of angle fish have different cool colors and should i build caves or do a planted tank and if planted real or fake i have a couple of non chain pet stores in my area and i hear these fish are very sesitive to water changes and temp changes and ph is that true as well and thank for you for all thins help i dont wanna spend my money to watch it all die
