hi guys! how can u be sure of an angle fish pair? like i mean im going to buy a angle fish pair from a person. so how can i make sure its a actual pair and nt jst 2 large angle fish ? pls help thx

there is no physical difference really. Based on my experience, it is the behavior. My couple will always be close to one another even when they were in the community tank.
But even that is not a full proof method. Unless you see them breed, you always have a chance of them not being a couple

My pair have just breed over the weekend and there is a real difference betwen them one is a lot larger than the other and the dorsal fin is more rounded at the top that the other but i cant remember off hand which is which thou

Ask the original owner if there are any pictures of the pair spawning, or if there are any pix of the fry themselves swimming amongst the pair..........Angelfish are not so hard to get going when it comes to breeding........They normally find a peice of decoratio that is tall, like the tube of the intake of the filter or a long peice of leaf...........Usually people stick long stringy, big leaf plants in the tank for them to lay their eggs.............Set the temperature at 78-80 degrees.........The eggs should hatch within 3 days..........You have the option of either raising the fry yourself or letting the pair raise the fry themselves.............Usually poeple purchase a 20g tank and raise the fry in the tank untill about 5 weeks to 2 months old.........Only then you will be left with the choice of:
1)Keeping a couple of fry to growout in another tank.......
2)Trading the fry for more fish food, or another fish..........
3)Use the fry themselves as food for larger fish to eat.............
