While almost all of their shows insult my intelligence I understand that they have to play to casual viewers. Shows like Weird true and freaky and Most Extreme are just retarded but whatever. Then you have shows that make no sense like the Haunted, Lost Tapes, and Monsters Inside Me. But hey they have a lot of time to fill so I'll let it slide. Go ahead and capitalize on stupid trends even if its a complete stretch to involve animals.

Where I draw the line is this Fatal Attractions crap. It's absolutely insulting when they try to psychoanalyze why these people live with dangerous animals. They linked one guys love for snakes to spousal abuse, making bombs, and a love of guns saying it gave him a power trip:confused: and then did it again in another episode. Then at the end they tell you to go to their website encouraging federal regulation for exotic pets. Theres so much crap slipped in to scare people into passing more laws and treating people with an interest in exotics like freaks. Its also astounding how many times they hint that guns are bad and anyone that owns them has psychological problems. I thought the show was about animals not politics.
Theyre currently going on about how dangerous the online pet trade is lol.

Anyway rant over. I just see this network pushing an agenda more than entertaining these days.

I dont really like animal planet because they just have way to many dog shows! I dont like those dogs shows. And like you said Thalan why on earth is the haunted on animal planet. I miss animal planet when it was in the 90's(im 18 :D) I loved watching Steve Erwin's crocodile hunter and all the other animal documentary. To many dog shows! Ughhh!

I miss Steve Irwin and mutual of omaha

I hate the narrator's voice for the most extreme.

They used to be an educational channel, now they cater to the ignorant minded saps for ratings.

Ive been thinking about this for some time...
I may as well rant here too.
After blue planet and planet earth, they dumbed down their documentary series A LOT. I hate that they had freaking opfah narrate LIFE. God, they turned it into a goddamn elementary-school-level show. It seems like they almost ot rid of technical terms because someone who wasnt well versed in biology was reading it. Maybe they didnt know that most people who really enjoyed animal planet actually enjoyed learning from someone who knew what they were talking about.
After this crap ^^, i figured they would get back to good old educational animal planet.
But NO. Theyve decided that they like retarded crap that appeals to the general population interested in only drama and who could care less about the animals themselves. "ooh, what parasite's in him?!" "whats number 1 gonna be in THIS countdown?" "wow, people shouldnt have dangerous pets"... Newsflash asshats, your dog can be dangerous too.

So, animal planet has forgotten about our dear Steve Irwin, and even Jeff Corwin.
They have made way for programs that have no purpose other than to keep some people sitting in front of the tv. They have forgotten about learning and care for the natural world. "the haunted"? Really, NO. I couldnt care less about a not-so-true ghost story.
Even river monsters, while i like jeremy wade, focuses a lot on drama.

I havent given up hope, but animal planet has dug itself quite a deep hole.

Part of AHS' new world order... it's annoying as hell... every show is either a dog/cat show or an animal attack show. They don't show legends like Jeff Corwin or Steve Irwin anymore because they apparently encourage stupid everyday people to get close to dangerous animals :screwy:

Lost Tapes, what a joke.
