I actually agree with most of what you said. I have to admit, as a young child, I loved animal planet more than any other channel, but now most of their shows are uninformative, to me, or hardly related to animals at all. Especially fatal attractions, that one gets on my nerves the most as well.

I'm so greatly disappointed with it. I'm 17, I grew during animal planet's golden years idolizing Steve Irwin. Now it seems they want reality shows and using bs shows to scare people. In school, one of the "Get to know everyone" sheets had list the pets you have. You wouldn't believe all the strange looks and "oh thats dangerous" comments I got when people learned I have a lizard that grows to 4 feet... my tegu wouldn't hurt a fly, literally, but people are deathly afraid of him.
As a side note, the History channel has started to follow the trend with all these new reality shows. Which don't even apply to history... Come on how are Ice road truckers related to historical documentaries...?
