I have mixed feelings about this show. One one they show some of my favorite fish, on the other they use cheesy editing and dramatic dialogue to make these fish seem dangerous.

they have to add an entertainment factor, especially since we live in a reality show society. but, you have to look beyond the ratings-driven part, and see the educational value. it's tit for tat. you give a little to get a little.

This is true, but I think we need to stop feeding into the reality stuff. They'll air a reality show about anything these days...and too many people eat it up.

i don't think it's a pure reality show. it's a documentary with a reality show appeal. but, at it's core, it's a good show that teaches a lot about the hobby as well as cultures, geography and science. it's pure truth with entertainement.

Any hobbyist would probably get something out of this show. it's something that you don't want to ignore and not watch because you consider yourself a "purist" to the hobby. just watch it and enjoy. remove your aquarium purist radar helmet.

animal planet is broadcasting "River Monsters" right this very moment. they're covering piranha right now. the next few shows of the series will target various continents.

Ive been DVR ing every episode today I got like 4 so far. Should be fun to watch when im done sending out bids here.

Funny, been watching this all night in fact I fell asleep with it on and had a dream my dad was complaining about piranha's killing all his fish. He wanted to spray the house to kill them. I kept telling him he was nuts and Piranha's were not airborne.
