Pam Pam Pam
I know were all tired of seeing the flame wars that have been going on, not just in the reptile area, but in the whole MFK community. The reptile section as a whole recieves alot of traffic, and the last thing we want to show potential members (guests) to the site is that if they join they will be flamed. So as a community we all have to do our part to show that we can all congregate here and be civil and respectful to one another.

This is a two way street and its the same set of standards for everyone. From the novice to the expert. If I see any flaming or bashing you will be infracted, and I will look at history to see if a vacation is needed. So if you have a history of bashing and flaming please make a turn to positive street.

Thread starters that have questions that have been answered 15 million times I will ask you to please look at our archives, its what theyre for! The website has great resources for you to find the answers to most of your novice questions, and this frees up space and clean up time for me and the other mods. What this also does is it allows us to free up conversations other than, the FAQ ones we see here on a regular basis.

If advice is given to you by a more knowledagble forum member or moderator, take as you will, but if you come off disrespectfully or anything near it, the garbage truck will come by and pick up your trash. I hope everyone can comply with these rules, theyre pretty simple and self explanatory. If you have any questions feel free to contact me via pm. For now I will have this in the forum area to see what kind of feedback we get. I will sticky this tonight and it will serve as reminder to everyone.

See what youve done ryan.... !!!! In all seriousness.... those will be the ground rules...nothing wrong with joking around, but it will be enforced.

I believe that argument about asking the same questions over and over have been deemed okay. New members may not be aware of the feature or know what to look for. I understand what you are trying to do but limiting those who are unaware is not the answer. Also telling new people they must be of the best behavior when responding is a bit much as well. How are we to know what is an expert and who is not.

I understand the impact and greater good you are trying to create, but the limits you have place and the message is not much better than the flaming.

Please feel free to delete this if it is counter productive.

Mike do you spend much time on here? While I dont find your point of view counter productive I do find it a bit inconsiderate. If you go back and re read some of the happenings as of late, there is only one active mod here. Me ( until adam is done with his studies) im also a mod in other areas, and what I am trying to create here is free flowing dialogue without the interuptions that have happened in the past with a few members. I assume that your participation is limited in this forum because you ask who is to know what is where and what is what, when we have stickies above our threads so that people have a chance to look at them before they ask their FAQ's.

Most of those stickies are done by knowledgeable members, their names are titled to them and the more novice keepers have a resource there via pm or email if they have any questions to ask. Were looking for people to do things on their own here, so that they can figure things out on their own, again which is why we have the stickies ( a tool) to help them. Our members spent alot of time digging up the info needed for their caresheets and FAQS were just asking people to do a little more than just ask the question when the answer is right above their topic in the sticky, I dont think thats too much to ask righ?

To answer youre questioning about the original poster being on their best behavior, please look back and look at the plethora of topics when someone is looking out for the best interest of the animal and they take it as personal attack on them.....(the original thread starter), again things that can be avoided by using that search engine, the stickies, and google. This isnt a kindergarten class, were here to make things easier for everyone.
