Can we not get more moderators to help with the load?

Adam should be back soon if you guys want to help out just point out things that may go unseen, we can only cover so many things at a time. :)

Okay....as far as the stickied threads are concerned...These are just my opinions on what should be done:

- the Exotics Classifieds thread should be incorporated into the MFK Marketplace somehow. Technically, the marketplace already allows for non-fish ads...perhaps just another sub-forum? IN any case, the state it is in now is not conducive for a classifieds section. It's like having everyone's ad inside on thread...how do you find something?

- The "guess the reptile' thread is the mod's call. I personally think it can go away.

- I think the "post your ____ (snake, turtles, lizard) pics" threads can go away as well. If someone has a new animal or two to post, just make a new thread. If you want to showcase your entire collection, just use your personal gallery options on the site. Thats what its there for.

- "my massive undertaking" thread...sorry Malawi, but the cage is built, it's awesome, great job....moving on. I'm not saying this should be deleted outright, but just not a sticky anymore now that the project is completed.

- the "dinosaur eggs" topic can stay, I suppose

- the two topics regarding FRT can probably be combined.

- I htink the "reptile shows' topic can go away. I dont think its that much of an issue. If someone wants to know about a show coming up, they can ask.

- the "state laws", "collections of articles", and "DIY enclosure" should stay
--------------------------------------

Now, for some proposed stickied threads....

On my other herp forum (http://www.herpfamily.com), you can look in the different herp sections of the site, you'll see a sticked thread in each section. For example, there's one called Snake FAQ - http://www.herpfamily.com/showthread.php?t=6798

Perhaps something like this can be incorporated?
-------------

Part of the problem here is that this is not a typical Reptile forum; it is merely a small section of a large community concerning fish. Perhaps there can be sub-forums kinda like the Cichlid and Bottom-dwellers section? One for: Mammals, Birds, Herps, and Inverts

This all sounds great, I can incorporate Malawi's pics into DIY with his permission of course and be done with that.

The FRT's were going to get merged this weekend.

Classifieds are a thing of the past it doesnt work its a cluster fest in there.

Ill see about dino eggs

Post your reptile yes I can see that going... however the guess the reptile I like the way that one flows.

The shows can be announced as they come.

I want more in the caresheets section and incorporate FAQ's

Sounds like a plan.

I also suggest (and this may not apply for all stickied threads) that unless it pertains directly to the focus, all unrelated posts can be deleted. Just for the sake of cleaning things up a little.

For instance, in the "caresheets/articles" thread, only post if you're contributing an caresheet or article. Just put a concise title/summary of the website, then post the URL link. No posts like "oh thats a cool site" or "nice pics"....those are what clutter things up.

Also the guessing thread needs a little more structure and regulation. I havent visited it in a while, and here's why: people were posting pics before the previous animal had been correctly guessed....so there was like 15 members guessing at 5 differnt animals at any given time. I propose a new rule: No one can post a new herp to be guessed until the Original Poster of the previous animal has declared a winner. Then the winner is the next one who posts...so 12 people don't jump in with thier pics.

Cool beans dude, there should be a revamp this weekend I am going to spend a few hrs working with it.

Varanio is banned for saying "make a turn for positive street"and "cool beans"................................:grinno:All this sounds good and the only thing like you guys say on the questions being repeated all the time, sometimes ppl such as myself now and then just want to chat about herps and if your boared enough sometimes you just bring up the same crap just to have a talk with someone.I would say the herp lounge could have a "fun and chat thread on herps"so you could just bs on what your bearded ate for dinner or if your boa took an extra smelly crap that nite. The more I think about it,it might be cool, but might be more work for you too.It might be better than 20 threads going way off topic though, anyways just a thought.Good luck Varanio, let me know if I can help.:)Any other things I thought of you guys already covered.

I am simply saying that flaming, bad language, and insults will not be tolerated, whether you were the original thread starter or a participator quote]

What exactly is considered "bad language"? I have at least 15 people ignored because they had a thread title containing "Damn", "WTF", or "OMG".

I agree, lots of good suggestions have been brought up and I look forward to see the results. Thank you mods for all the work you do and members, keep those posts rolling, but in a good way. Don't give Varanio and Davo (aka Slacker Mod) anymore headaches. And Alex let me know if you need any help.
