Annoying Recommendation Thread

TSN and lima get to large.

The jag is very tempting but from what I read they need PH below 6.8
Anyone have success keeping them in slightly higher PH. 7.0 - 7.2?

Also half the sites I got info from said they do well in groups, and the other half said they are very territorial and hard to keep together?

Oh, and I really appreciate all the suggestions from everyone.

Raphials are great looking cats but tend to hide out most of the time. Pictus cats are very active and easy to care for...no doubt why your getting so many recomandations for them. A small shoal of cory cats might work as well.

You'll be fine at that pH range. It's more of the quality of the water that the jaguars prefer.

As far as tankmates go, the will do well in groups...usually kept in pairs, but I wouldn't worry too much because they are a tolerant species. They will defend their hidespots, and more aggressively if there are few to defend, so your best bet is to supply multiple hide spots and everyone will be happy.

Even if you do see an attack, it's just enough to drive the intruder out...never really does any damage.

a lima it get a bit bigger any where form 14-18" in home aqurium but a possiablity of 2' in large aqurium

3-5 Pictus gets my vote. If you are willing to go allitle larger than 8-10 inches, then go for a lima. After 10-12 inches their growth REALLY, slows down. You could easily keep one for years and years, maybe for life.
