Very old thread.
I have two young ones now, ~2.5 inches long, in 2 separate tanks. Bought them a month ago. I had one many years ago and kept it for several years until ~5''. Very nice and interesting fish, but would not get along with conspecifics and was only suitable with large, semi agressive fish. I have seen groups of them doing fine, and stubburn me, tried with 3 of them this time, only to lose one to the meanness of the dominant one. Now they are in separate quarters. I briefly tried one of them in my silver dollar tank, but that didn't last long as it began fin nipping and harassing the SD's. I still like them and only see them from time to time.
