Longest I can think of is seven,they tend to live longer in ponds of large sizes
They tend to live longer in pond of larger size? May as well say they tend to live longer in South America river
 
@jlinguyen74 I say this because if u own a average sized yard u can set up a intex pool type pond for much less than a lot of people set up their tanks.
 
What's the longest anyone has been able to keep one?
I seem to remember an article years ago about changing habitat needs as they age

The tank I bought a couple months ago the guy had one at 22" he said he had him for 5 years I try so hard to keep him ali'lve on the long road. All the other fish did good (dat bass lionfish n so on ) but he didn't make it. I have a pic of him when I took him out, the guys water definitely had alot of ammonia or something it even start peeling skin of my hand..

Oh man what a shame. One day I'll get back into the Armatus game - just too many things on my plate right now
