i take it you are looking for a prepackaged PC. I hear Dell make good computers.

I've heard the opposite numerous times , I wouldn't recommend dell..
I've bought two new computers this year ,a laptop and a desktop both Compaq
got them from Future Shop.
The pricing was good and I've had zero problems as of yet the laptop is on more the 12hrs a day and i run huge downloads on it as well as large file photos handles it with ease.

Dell has good computers but some crappy tech support. IMO 'cause it's corporate tech support so even know you know the battery in your laptop melted everything they still need you to try to turn on your laptop, etc. Freakin stupid.

Also they charge extra for warrantys and stuff so when you call they can't help you until you agree to buy the extra warranty.

I would just get a cheap computer you like. HP's aren't horrible, it's really up to you. A computer(especially if you're not upgrading internals in the future) is a computer.

FWIW, every Dell that we have had that I have to support (Hospital) has crashed and burned. We had a $5k system that had to have a new motherboard and memory in the first week. I hate Dell with a passion. However, we have had wonderful luck with Toshiba.

I am on compaq now for 4 years.. still acts like new..no problems and you all know i use my PC quite often;)

i have quite a few dell's............have had good reliability would buy again............
