I got this 8'x2' fiberglass tub off the Portland craigslist for $50.00 last week.

That's awesome! To think my wife gave me crap about putting a used tank in the back of my Tahoe, you got an 8' by 2' up top! I saw that tank and had a "ray" moment but it passed quick with no where to put it.

I am planning a mostly SA setup, sand bottom, lots of dark wood/tannins. Tentative stock list below but open to suggestions since I'll have a "little" extra room.
L240 Galaxius Vampire pleco (already have in a growout now)
Geophagus Altifrons
Uaru Amphiacanthoides
Sterbai Corydoras
Radom rams etc...

This guy was awesome though. Garage converted to a fish room for breeding inverts and Jack Dempseys. Really nice guy I am hoping to go back buy fmore from before it even goes up for sale.

Sounds like a nice stock list, I would like to get a SA tank going. The 8'x2' is for my big Pangasius, maybe he'll finally stop bumping his nose!

haha in toronto people are trying to get rid of 10 g setups for 150$ and 75 for 700$, haha i don't think people realize that once you put a drop of water in a tank you loose about 80% of its store value
