long story short

(2) people placed deposits on books. books have arrived and i've been trying to reach them for 2 weeks now (at least 3 pms and 2 emails). no response at all. btw i know they have been around since i see them posting on the forum.

how long is reasonable before i forfeit their deposit and sell their books to someone else? should i refund part of their deposit?

for future reference you might want to state a time period in your policy in regards to how long you will hold a deposit/book.

I agree

However the whole point of a deposit is to show that you are serious and do not intend to screw the seller. If they are on the forums posting comments, PM them and track the message. That will tell you when they read it. Give them a time frame to respond or you will sell it to someone else. They loss there deposit. You should not suffer because they back out.

Just my 2 cents also

I get the same problem with special order fish people...
one came back a YEAR later wondering where his giant Frontosa was.
Idiots.
I just told him I used the $100 deposit to feed and maintain the fish.
I lost that customer but so what. He was obviously a bad customer anyway
and I have more time to spend with cutomers that like me and PAY me.
Alot of people don't want to OWN the item they are talking about,
they want YOU to own in CASE they decide they want it later.
