Another fish-couldn’t resist

They are a bit. They were probably fed live food at the lfs. I’d try floating foods mixed with garlic or bloodworm juice. Throw in some current to get it to move. Can even mix with live crickets and prepared foods. Just keep reducing the live crickets and hopefully the cudas will take the pellet.
The LFS only had them about an hour when I got him, they had just arrived, so I really don’t think I can find out what they were being fed
But I’ll give those ideas a shot, thanks!

Initially mine mine only ate live food. I eventually managed to wean them onto frozen by threading small pieces of fish/shrimp into thread and jerking them around in the water.

They are also definitely delicate in my experience. They’re highly susceptible to fin rot, particular right after shipping and they typically have a bunch of small injuries, and this is frequently fatal. So I would definitely plan to run a course of anti-bacterial and anti-fungal as part of initial acclimation and quarantine.

I also think your combo is a bit risky. They are pretty flighty, not very aggressive and easily bullied by other fish. Odoes, in my experience tend to get pretty aggressive towards similarly shaped fish and it takes very little damage from an odoe to be fatal to an acestro.

Thanks, I’ll give that a shot. It’s showing interest in food but not biting so far.
It did have one injury from shipping, a damaged nose, but that seems to be healing up. I’m watching it closely and doing frequent WCs. Hopefully I can avoid the meds.
Ya my combo of mostly cuda/pike looking fish is risky. If I can get it to work, it will look amazing IMO. They’re all around the5- 6” mark and they are all getting along great so far. What’s funny is I was getting some aggression from the odoe, mainly towards the chalceus, but when I added the Rhamphochromis he seems to keep the odoe in line without being aggressive.Maybe his behavior was confusing. They all shoal together for now. I’m planning on going to an 8’ tank at some point
Thanks for all the info!
