Ok another thread on here has got me paranoid.

http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?446139-Help-ID-my-blue-acara-green-terror

I would like opinions on my GT's as they are pretty similar to the ones in this thread. Pictures suck so bare with me.

The fish you posted is commonly sold as a green terror in typical fish stores.

As far as the aquarium industry is concerned, Aequidens aequinoctialis, previously known as 'Aequidens' sp. "Gold Saum" is the Green Terror. Getting pedantic about common names (which I hate) aren't the problem here, though.

mdt62, the fish you've posted is what is commonly referred to as a Green Terror, not a Blue Acara. :)

This.

Aequidens rivlatus AKA Green Terror

That is a picture of Andinoacara stalsbergi. It has the reverse scale pattern. Your definately making things far more confusing then it really should be, by posting an outdated picture that everyone should now know was labled with the wrong scientific name.

It is true that the goldsuam/whitesaum green terror is often refferred to now as Andinioacara aequinoctialis in the aquarium industry. Alf Stalsberg is calling it that and Jeff Rapps is selling it under this name. Though the CRC is calling the goldsaum/ white saum green terror as Andinoacara rivulatus. Read this:http://www.cichlidae.com/gallery/species.php?id=4

Anyways, any of these fish are commonly known as green terrors.

blah blah now the drama queens come out of the wood work trying to start stuff trying to tell me Jeff Rapps is wrong lol
