Jeff rapps is nothing special hes just an importer, sure he has some nice fish but that doesnt make him an expert. would you call the guy who imports all the cars to your local garages an expert?

and not to derail,

yes they are green terrors, Blue acaras are quite ugly and dull, even a terror at that size is more colourful. t

blah blah now the drama queens come out of the wood work trying to start stuff trying to tell me Jeff Rapps is wrong lol

Whatever.

In the past, there was alot of confusion, as to what was what, when it comes to green terrors. Like the rest of the aquarium industry, it was no different for jeff Rapps. His phototo gallery is from the past---consequently, there are a few names that are either outdated or wrong. he hasn't got around to changing a few names. The picture is listed as Aequidens rivulatus----real from peru. It is obvious from it's reverse scale pattern that the fish is Andinoacara stalsbergi ...plus the fact that the fish is listed as coming from Peru!

Now that this fish has been described, there is little reason for confusion. In his price list, Jeff rapps is using the correct name: Andinoacara stalsbergi----green terror from Peru.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Looks like I didn't get hustled at my lfs lol. And I didnt intend to start a war but I was aware prior to asking this question I dont have a true green terror(not sure I want one over the gold saum anyway). I assumed others would know what I ment but I apologize for my lack of political correctness.

You could have simply answered the OP's question, but you 'started it' by deciding to try and be pedantic about the common naming. Don't get pissy when people correct you.

the picture in the thread is my fish, and its interesting you all say GT, as the general response within the thread is BA. i am still confused as to wether it is BA or GT???

It's a Green Terror in this thread, Blue Acara in yours.
