ANOTHER HYBRID: GLOFISH?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just one of my pet peeves.:) Aside from dyeing, mutiliating and tattooing.;) Sure, they look eye-catching but they don't just look natural to me.:WHOA:

they are not created to be pretty or eye catching they where crated to detect environmental pollutants.

and I'm pretty sure that part of the profit form them goes towards more environmental research.

here's the link if you want to read about them.

I don't see what the big deal with creating hybrids? Dogs have been cross bred for 1000's of years to look like they do now. We have NO problem with that

i dont think glofish are that a new a thing, but i've never seen any. Saw the glowing green pigs scientists "created"

Yeah, those were crazy ... "Made in Taiwan" too. Even their internal organs were luminous green!

Weren't Glofish originally made in Taiwan too?

Sorry, I'm slow...these guys actually glow (in the dark)? I think I saw some a few days ago in PetSmart (?) maybe, but was rather unimpressed. Now I kind of wish I had given them a second look.

Sorry, wrong term " HYbrid ". Yes, they glow in the dark.

Wow, so taken from jellyfish huh? Well, dogs to me are a different matter.

So noone has ever kept one of these guys?

They have these in my LFS. They want nine bucks a piece for them and they're under a 1/2" in length. They look like dyed zebra danios. I passed.

All domestic dogs are the same species. I guess you could say back hundreds or thousands of years ago they where hybrids but these days the only hybrids are crosses with wolves and here we have the odd dingo cross.

I picked three up today for $3.97 a peice, I got them from Wal-Mart. They don't glow in the dark, or at all. They are just day-glo orange. A blacklight might do the trick though.
